Ophion Tactical Security emblem: a dragon coiled around a globe

The serpent that guards the world.

In the Pelasgian creation myth, one of the oldest stories the Greeks told, the goddess Eurynome rose from chaos and brought forth the great serpent Ophion. She laid the egg that held the universe, and she gave Ophion one charge: coil around it, and keep it safe until it was ready.

Ophion did exactly that. He wasnโ€™t the glamorous god, and he didnโ€™t rule what hatched. His whole purpose was to protect something precious while it grew, and when the world was ready, it prospered.

That is how we see our work. Our officers stand between our clients and the things that could interrupt them, so that businesses can operate, families can celebrate and leaders can do their jobs. The serpent in our mark is a reminder of that charge.

We protect so others can prosper.

What a security program includes.

An officer on post is the starting point. A security program adds what makes the post work: written post orders, field supervision and reporting agreed with you. We start by learning how your property runs and what you need security to do there, then build the routine around that. It is not a way to sell you more hours than you need.

Clear post orders

Every post has written orders for your site: what to cover, who to call and what to document. Officers are briefed on those orders and work from them, so what we know about your property is on paper, not in one personโ€™s head.

Field supervision

Officers on your site work under field supervision, and a supervisor checks that the post orders are being followed. How often a supervisor visits depends on the site, the scope and the schedule.

Reporting and communication

When something happens on your property, it gets documented and it reaches you. The report format, how often you receive it and who it goes to are agreed when the assignment is set up.

Licensed for the work.

Texas licenses security officers by level. Ophion staffs Level III and Level IV, the armed end of the industry. Our Texas DPS license number is B28459401.

Level III

Commissioned security officer

Uniformed, armed and licensed through the Texas DPS Private Security Program. The standard for Ophionโ€™s commercial posts, patrols and events.

You donโ€™t need to have it all figured out. Tell us what you need, and weโ€™ll help you work out what coverage makes sense.
